Unexpected Business Lessons from My Little Explorers

You know I like to blend my home life with this business, so today I’m doing just that. As you likely already know, I'm a parent to two incredibly curious and energetic toddler boys. We’re fresh off of a fun (albeit exhausting) family trip to Great Wolf Lodge, which inspired this email.

Harrison (4) and Grant (2) have taught me some unexpected yet invaluable business lessons that I think you'll appreciate.

Lesson 1: Embrace Curiosity

Watching my boys approach the world with wide-eyed wonder has reminded me of the importance of staying curious. In business, it's easy to get caught up in routines and forget to explore new possibilities. Embracing curiosity can lead to innovative ideas, uncharted paths, and a fresh perspective that keeps our ventures vibrant.

Lesson 2: Resilience Through Setbacks

Toddlers fall, stumble, and sometimes face tiny failures. But here's the magic: they bounce back with an unbeatable spirit. In the business world, setbacks are inevitable. What matters is our ability to get up, dust ourselves off, and keep moving forward. It's all about that resilient spirit that keeps us striving for success, even in the face of challenges.

Lesson 3: Fearless Creativity

Ever watched a toddler scribble with crayons? There's no fear of judgment, just raw and fearless creativity…even if it triggers all my anxiety (lolz). In business, we often hesitate to share unconventional ideas due to worries about how they'll be received. But my boys remind me that the most innovative breakthroughs often come from fearless creativity and thinking outside the box.

Lesson 4: Living in the Moment

Toddlers don't worry about yesterday or tomorrow; they're fully immersed in the present. This has made me realize the significance of being present in business too. Celebrate successes, learn from mistakes, but always remember that real magic happens in the here and now.

Lesson 5: Unfiltered Honesty

Toddlers have no filter. They'll tell you if they love your outfit or hate their peas. In business, honest feedback is priceless. It helps us improve, grow, and connect with our audience on a genuine level. Embracing unfiltered honesty can lead to better relationships and stronger business foundations.

It’s why I always appreciate your feedback and authenticity. You help me mold this shop into what it needs to be to thrive.

So, as I navigate the whirlwind of parenting these energetic boys, I'm constantly reminded that these tiny humans are teaching me some of the most significant lessons in my business journey.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Your support means the world. Here's to embracing curiosity, bouncing back from setbacks, fearlessly creating, living in the moment, and cherishing unfiltered honesty!
