The symphony of work/life balance 🎶

You may notice that today’s email is coming a bit later than usual. Well, yesterday, as life's beautiful chaos took center stage, I realized that my weekly email wasn’t going to get written on time. But guess what? It's all good, and here’s why...

The Real Work/Life Balance: A Working Mom's Perspective

All day yesterday, I had every intention of sitting down to write this note, but life had other plans – a whirlwind of toddler giggles, household chores, and all the glorious unpredictability that comes with being a mom of two little ones, wife, and business owner.

By 9pm, I sat down at my computer to write and realized I was exhausted. Instead of “pushing through” and writing what would have inevitably been a lackluster note to you all, I made the conscious decision to go to bed.

So, this morning, I started thinking…the concept of "work/life balance" is a buzzword we hear often, but what does it truly look like?

Let's be real….as moms, our lives are a beautiful symphony of family, work, and (an attempt at) self-care. And sometimes, one of those notes takes the lead. Yesterday, for me, family took center stage (and I wouldn’t have it any other way).

So here we are, my note to you arriving fashionably late. But you know what? It's okay. Instead of immediately laying on the self-guilt of “I failed” I’m making the conscious effort to remember that we are all human and sometimes a ball gets dropped.

I'm sharing this with you not as an apology but as a celebration of imperfection. We all have days where we feel like we're juggling a few too many balls, and occasionally, one might slip. It happens to the best of us, and it's okay.

To all the incredible moms, dads, caregivers and more in our community, I want you to know that you're seen, you're understood, and you're not alone. Life's beautiful messes are what make us unique and united. So, if you've ever felt the struggle of balancing it all, remember: you're doing an amazing job.

Let's celebrate the imperfect, the late, and the unexpected together. Because in our community, unity is our strength.

Sending you all the positive vibes and understanding this year!
