Four tiny things making me smile this week

This week, I’ve been paying attention to the little things—the micro-moments that catch me by surprise and remind me that joy doesn’t always have to be loud or monumental. Sometimes it’s quiet, small, and a little funny.

Like this:

Watching my kids grow into their quirks. I snapped a picture of Grant at Harrison’s baseball game, legs crossed, phone in hand, looking every bit like a little old man waiting for the stock market report. It made me laugh, and also made me pause. These tiny glimpses into who they’re becoming are magic.

The return of sweaters. You know I’ve been waiting for this. There’s a new v-neck I’ve fallen for…so much so that I’ve already claimed one for myself. It’s cozy, flattering, and yes… it’s headed to the shop next week. It’s soft, it’s lightweight, it’s camel colored…it’s perfect.

Rain in Culpeper. Finally. The grass has been crunchy, the air dry, and this rain feels like a reset button. I swear I could hear the earth sigh with relief.

Doing my nails. Gel nails have always felt like a time commitment I can’t keep, but an Instagram ad (well played, algorithm) lured me into trying Polish Pops. I’m hooked. A fresh gel mani without blocking two hours at the salon? Consider me converted. And since I don’t believe in gatekeeping, HERE is the link with a 15% off coupon!

None of these things are life-changing. But stacked together, they’re a reminder that joy is everywhere if I stop long enough to notice it.
