For so many years, I shopped with one goal in mind: find clothes that made me look as thin as possible. I’d pull on outfit after outfit, convinced that if I could just “fix” my body with the right piece, then I’d feel confident.
But here’s what I’ve learned: confidence doesn’t come from the size on the tag or how much fabric you can camouflage with clever cuts. It comes from honoring the body you’re in right now.
For me, that’s been a slow but powerful shift. Instead of dressing for the body I thought I should have, I’ve started dressing for the one I do have—the body that grew and carried two boys, that lets me chase them in the backyard, and that shows up for me every single day. This body deserves joy. It deserves clothes that feel good, fit well, and remind me that I don’t need to shrink to be worthy of style.
And maybe most importantly—it’s helped me realize that boutiques are for every body. Somewhere along the way, boutiques got the reputation of only being for a certain “type”—a certain size, a certain look, a certain vibe. But that’s a myth I want to bust wide open. Boutiques should be places where every woman (and every shopper) feels welcome, seen, and celebrated. That’s exactly why I’m so intentional about what we bring into Green Roost.
Which brings me to this week’s drop: our new Mary Square collection. Everything is under $100, everything is comfy and polished, and I can’t decide which I love more—the easy green top or the chic black dress.
Both fit me now. Both make me feel good. Both let me show up as me. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
